The Information page provides links to useful information for researching your family history. This will include tools that I use to help with my research, handouts for courses I have run and links to useful websites. In addition, a list of events and courses I am planning to attend is provided here.
To help progress your family history, useful information will be gradually added here as the site develops. This will include downloadable files that will help your research. A series of guest blogs that I have written are available here.

COVID-19 Update – sadly genealogy events are not taken place to ensure we keep people safe. However one regular event I will be at is Talking Family History (every other Friday morning (UK time)) with a great gang of Australian, New Zealand and other international genies all safely online.
These are genealogy events that I will be attending over the next year(s). In some cases I will be speaking, running workshops or working on specific stands. Looking forward to catching up with genies at these events!
- 2021 – RootsTech Connect – although the live event is over, my talk Occupations: The Why, What, When, Where, and How is available to watch along with hundreds of other talks and you can visit the Society of Genealogists in the Expo Hall.
- June and September 2021 – The Family History Show online where you can request an slot for advice with me and other experts and watch the live Q&A session which I may be taking part in. I am awaiting to hear if I will be doing another talk.
- September 2021 – Irish Lines and Female Finds: Exploring Irish records, female ancestors and genetic genealogy – the 26th annual conference of the British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa – my talk Hunting through Matches concludes the conference at 4pm (9pm BST) on Sunday 26 September
